As a translator, I use bilingual anatomical atlases as references. They can be quite useful in medical translation, serving as classified anatomy dictionaries with pictures and illustrations that allow me to better conceptualize source texts.

At about 20,000 yen for two volumes, the Wolf-heidegger's Atlas Of Human Anatomy series is one of the more comprehensive anatomy atlases I have looked at.

As a translator, I find the index the most important. At 30 pages, Wolf-heidegger's Atlas Of Human Anatomy index is second only to Nihon jintai kaibougaku (79 pages) in size. The later, about 22,000 yen for both volumes, is only slightly more expensive.

Aesthetically, Wolf-heidegger's Atlas Of Human Anatomy has many photos as well as some drawings and paintings, and is nicer than Nihon jintai kaibougaku. Still, I believe that aesthetically the bilingual edition of the Color Atlas of Human Anatomy (5ed) is superior, although no where near as comprehensive.

A 2002 publication, Wolf-heidegger's Atlas Of Human Anatomy is not exactly dated, but the bilingual edition of the Color Atlas of Human Anatomy (5ed) and the bilingual edition of Grant's Atlas of Anatomy (9ed) are both newer (both published in 2004, about 12,000 yen each).
